Vancouver Island

Hi Class,

Here is the agenda for today:
  • Review election results and compare to StudentVote results.
  • Review the Oregon Territory Worksheet (6-2) and recap the Oregon Trail game

  • Add to map: Columbia River, Vancouver Island, Fort Langley, Fort Victoria, Nanaimo, Cumberland
  • Choose 4 out of the 8 questions on Activity 6-3 to complete for next class.

Government and your rights!


Hi Class,

Today we worked on understanding our rights and freedoms. We learned that we have certain rights and freedoms that are protected by law in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (part of the Canadian Constitution). For homework complete:
  • Worksheet 2.4
  • Questions:
    • Brainstorm reasons why fewer people in the province are casting their ballot.
    • Is this decline disrespectful to those who had to fight for their right to vote?
